Once again- I though it would be fun to spotlight a few of the layouts in my Gallery at the Lilypad that really caught me eye this week and share them with you! *artist credits and supplies used can be found here in Gallery for the week of Jan 15-Jan 23 2022
The simple white space in this layout pairs so well with the pops of color in the elements- and check out the cool touch of typing in pink! What makes the page work best though is the strong vertical line that draws you right through the sweet spot of the photo! Excellent composition!
The carefully chosen ellies and colors of this layout tell you all to need to know about the photo- it’s a type of silent storytelling that lets a beautiful snapshot take center stage. Awesome work!
One of the best things about digital scrapbooking is the magic you can create- like this awesome little shaker box- (how COOL is that shadowing!) – and the sweet little crown propped on the adorable little mermaid! This layout is pure joy!
Wondering how a “dude” page and soft styling can work together? Look no further than the 4 corners of this page! The staggered verticals of the elements hanging down draw your eye to the main focus and they are anchored on a perfectly packed shelf of elements that reinforce the theme of the page. Great work!
The sequencing and layering of these photos tell a terrific “before and after ” story – with the final result being the largest and holding the sweet spot of the page focus. See how the journaling and elements hug it from 3 sides- that’s the magic triangle of composition! Love it!
This p[age has amazing flow! Look closely and see the upside down triangle the photos and ellies create- with the journaling hugging closely by- it all draws the eye through the photos creating a pleasing flow that lets your eye rest on the awesome clusters of ellies. Perfect!
This page has such a beautiful and dreamy vibe- and the choice of black and white treatment for the photo is perfect! It not only blends in well with the layout- it creates a timeless and magical feel. Great work!
Pink power! The choice of colors here is awesome and spotlighting the photo with the angle looking down is just perfect. Not only do the stairs give you great flow landing right on the journaling box- the put the right scale on this tiny cutie! And every choice of ellie just adds tp the playful feel of the layout! Love love love!
Sometimes powerful journaling can be as simple as choosing the right song lyric! This layout nails it- with each and every crown reinforcing the theme and the musical elements carrying through the melody of the page. This is what creativity looks (and sounds) like!
Oh dear!! I am absolutely obsessed with this page!! I’ll bet, since these photos were taken over the course of a year- the backgrounds and colors are all so very different. So turning them to black and white creates cohesiveness and lets the progression of age take center stage! Now add i the pops of color and you have magic! Want to see it all come together? You can watch the artist/designer Cheryl of Fiddle Dee Dee designs scrap it [ here ]
Finally- this page is proof of the fact that you can never take too many photos when you are traveling! If it looks cool to you- if it makes you double take- snap it! Capture that joy- and when you put all those happy photos together- you will capture the vibe of the day and it will be a ticket back to that time each time you see it! It’s really one of the reason why we scrapbook- isn’t it?
One more week to go for the Month of Challenges! I can’t wait to see what’s shared in my gallery next!
