So many of you have written and asked for the return of the #joycreated story prompts– (um, can I say how much I adore getting notes from you!?)

As sweet fan Lisa M. in NJ put it-  “they help take my stories to a level beyond the usual. Just thinking of finding the joy in the story makes me even happier telling it!” Bingo! That’s exactly what I was hoping for!

So-  sure! Let’s get back at it again- not so much in the form of the usual challenge– where you have to follow certain rules, post in a few different places, and link things up, but more like a storytellers who share the same goal telling the joy of their everyday in ways beyond the usual. Not only will it keep our albums and photo books more interesting, but also add a level of story authenticity that’s important to pass down.

I mean, I don’t want my boys looking back at my albums and thinking everything was a happy photo op- because not only will that not line up with their memories- but it also sets a false benchmark for the days they have their own families.

There will be awesome days, happy days, quiet days, crazy days, boring days, and hard days. But to show the joy in each- that’s my goal. That’s a big part of why I, and I bet you- do this! Life can be hard sometimes- but man, I want my boys to know that just because it isn’t easy, doesn’t mean it’s not good.

This month, as we deal with “April Showers”, I thought it would be fun to focus on telling the stories of “dancing in the rain”.  Embracing the bad days and just going with the flow, knowing that the lows are part of the story- or maybe- laughing at the drama of it all.
