It’s no secret that I try to capture the everyday stories and moments of my day in my scrapbooking. These are the pages I really enjoy looking back on- as opposed to the “big day” layouts. The little stories would most likely be forgotten- and sometimes I find that I have forgotten them- until I flip thru one of my scrapbooks ;)Anyway- Friday brought with it one of these moments- and it I just wanted to share with you.
So, my preschooler came out of school- and seemed a little down. He’s not one to talk about school right away- so I waited until we got home and asked what went wrong in school that day? He told me he was upset about the man who kept looking at him. WHOA! What!? I tried to sound calm. I tried to sound casual. But was totally freaking out inside. Here’s the conversation:
me: um what man honey?
him: you know, the one who’s always there.
(there are no men in his little school)
me: does he clean up at the school? or work there?
him: no. But he’s always watching me. Always. he just keeps looking.
me: hmmm, what does he look like?
him: he wears fancy clothes all the time.
Me: Ok…. (fancy clothes!! my head is splitting!!)
him: and that tie
me: Ok…
him: and sometimes he wears a big hat…
me: hat? (a pscycho clown? are you kidding me!)
him: yes- and I dont like his beard.
lightbulb!
me: Honey- do you mean Abraham Lincoln? The picture on the wall?
him: yes! He’s always looking!
him: and that guy with the white hair- him too!
you cant make this stuff up.
OMG too funny! It's so hard to freak out when we think our children are in danger, or not feeling comfortable! Too funny! I love it.
