Around my place, you know summer is coming when the Saturday morning air is green and bright with the smell of fresh cut grass; when new jars of bubbles find there way into my shopping cart- and “grilled” goodies and paper plates replace the roasts and china on our dinner table. ..And when 1500 lady bugs crawl all over my boys. yep. and not by accident either- I buy the little suckers! $10.00 a bag at the garden store (they control aphids) Maybe you have to have boys to stand the sight of this event- my guys spend the morning making little bug houses and forts among the flower beds…and then we let them loose! What never fails to amaze me is how these two rough and tumble kids are so very gentle and caring of our new visitors. Then for the next few days- it’s pure delight when a little lady bug will fly over and land on one of us. We make a wish and sing for them to fly away home. The boys wish for Nerf guns and the ice cream truck. I wish these days would never end. They are happy. and simple. and *sigh*… precious.
