Telling the Story of Letting Go

Because you raised them to be brave. And now they are.

Let’s be honest. No one tells you how fast the shift happens. One minute you’re cutting crusts off sandwiches, the next you’re helping them pack for college, or watching them drive away with that “I’ve got this” look on their face. There’s pride. There’s panic. And there’s an ache so big it has its own heartbeat.

Wild World is here to help you tell that story — the one you don’t always know how to put into words. It’s the transition, the launch, the in-between. The quiet kitchen. The slammed trunk. The text that says, “Made it safe.” It’s not about endings. It’s about honoring the courage it takes to start again — for them, and for you.

Wild World was inspired by my own season of change: my boys growing up and away, setting off on new adventures- and my own feelings of pride and love and excitement of having a front row seat to this new chapter.

PHOTO + STORY PROMPTS

  • The Lasts You Didn’t Realize Were Lasts
    • That last packed lunch. The final game. The drive to school before graduation. Go back in your camera roll. Pull the photo. Pair it with a reflection: When did you feel the shift? What was said? What wasn’t?
  • The “Before They Go” Prep
    • Snapshots of the checklist: bags packed, forms signed, Amazon boxes stacked. Take a photo of the pile. The open suitcase. The shoes they had to have. Now write: What did you say while folding clothes? What advice did you sneak in under the radar?
  • The Big Launch
    • Drop-off day. Move-in day. Travel day. Catch it all: the excitement in their eyes, the nerves in yours, the mess of it all. Capture the goodbye hug — the kind you hold an extra second. And write it down while it’s fresh. What were you thinking when you turned around?
  • The Echo After They’re Gone
    • This is the moment that knocks the wind out of you. The quiet house. The extra plate on the counter. The suddenly-too-tidy bedroom. Photograph the stillness. Document the emotion. Where did you sit when it hit you? What helped you breathe through it?
  • Signs That They’re Still Yours
    • The text. The random FaceTime. The sock left under the couch. The mug you can’t move. Snap it. Talk about how love leaves breadcrumbs. How are you staying connected? What reminds you they’re still anchored to you, no matter the distance?
  • The Rebuild — Who You’re Becoming, Too
    • Because they’re not the only one stepping into something new. Take a photo of your own next chapter: a new morning routine, a solo walk, something just for you. Then write the truth: What are you rediscovering now that your role is shifting?
  • Looking Ahead
    • Document the hope. The belief. The “you’ve got this” vibe. Photograph a sunset, their empty seat at the dinner table, the journal you started. And say the thing you’ve wanted to: What do you hope they know — about life, about themselves, about you?

Wild World is for telling those stories. The brave ones. The bold ones. The moments where your heart swells and cracks at the same time. Whether it’s a move, a milestone, a leap into the unknown — this kit captures the energy of growing up, growing out, and growing forward.

With earthy textures, bold graphics, and fierce word art, Wild World is perfect for documenting new beginnings — from college drop-offs to cross-country road trips, gap years to big life pivots. It’s about the courage to go, and the love that stays rooted no matter how far they fly.

Because this world? It’s wild. But so are they. And that’s the magic.
